Designations are known by different names but usually the freshers are recruited as an analyst or consultant depending upon the their qualifications

  • Qualifications/Skills required for each designation – For most positions CA’s or CFA’s are preferred. MBA’s with specializations in finance are also considered. For the position of analysts CA interns or graduates with a good academic background are recruited. Other skills - Candidates - should have academic and numerical ability, imagination, willingness to take decisions, powers of logical reasoning, an analytical mind, good judgement, tact in dealing with clients and employers, the ability to write and speak concisely, resourcefulness and a confident manner.
  • Salaries offered to these positions – . The field is competitive, challenging and remunerations are approx. above Rs.10000 p.m. to start with (although this varies with location and employing organization and individual capability). CA’s with prior experience command a higher pay also MBA’s from premier institute with get a much higher remuneration.
  • Terms of Employment – Generally Three months training or probation period.
  • Timings of work – Timing of work are 9 to 6 with Saturday and Sunday being an off but this work involves lots of traveling as auditing is done at client location. Outstation trips could vary from 3 weeks to 3 months depending on project to project.
  • Work Culture – Very Formal
  • Study leave/Leave policy – Depends on Company to company but usually there are some days given as study leave.
  • Future career prospects/growth pattern - The present day complex tax systems, improved methods of computing costs and controlling budgets, the new fields of management accounting and the innovations in accounting methodology have increased the importance of the audit profession. The fast moving world of finance requires more and more audit professionals with the increasing numbers of financial institutions both Indian and Multinational.
  • Requirement of freshers in the coming year - The present day complex tax systems, improved methods of computing costs and controlling budgets, the new fields of management accounting and the innovations in accounting methodology have increased the importance of the audit profession.
