Wipro doubles its freshers hiring!

April 26th, 2007 at 11:51 am

There is reason for freshers and for us as well to cheer! This is because IT giant Wipro has decided to hire 14000 freshers for FY08 which is twice the number that it hired in the previous financial year!

Wipro hired 7100 freshers in the previous financial year and this sudden rise is beacuse of the followiung realization by wipro.

“This is to meet the growth needs, and secondly, we have decided that the proportion of rookies versus laterals should be more towards the former. This gives us a lot of operational advantages as people who go through training after college are more productive,’’ Wipro HR executive vice-president Pratik Kumar told ET.

This news is great for freshers especially as i have noticed that there are soo many IT freshers that are looking for jobs. When a company like wipro says that it thinks hiring freshers is better it makes us feel good and also encourages us to do better than we are doing at Jobs4Freshers. :)
